The successful candidate will play a vital role in equipping undergraduate engineering students with the mathematical foundation needed to solve real-world engineering problems. The role involves delivering engaging lectures, developing contextual learning resources, and supporting the integration of mathematics across the engineering curriculum in alignment with international qualification frameworks (BTEC Level 5 / AQF Diploma Equivalent). Requirements Key Responsibilities: Deliver structured instruction on mathematics topics critical to engineering, including: Number Theory & Complex Numbers Matrix Theory & Linear Equations Numerical Integration & Differentiation Graphical Representations of Curves First & Second Order Differential Equations Discrete Mathematics: Set Theory, Graph Theory, Boolean Algebra, Binary Operations Algebraic Structures and Statistical Analysis Design and implement effective assessment strategies to evaluate student understanding and competencies. Offer individual and group academic support, promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment. Collaborate with engineering faculty to align mathematics content with applied technical modules and project-based learning. Stay current with developments in both mathematics and engineering education, incorporating innovative pedagogical tools and teaching practices. Contribute to curriculum development, quality enhancement, and the continuous improvement of mathematics instruction within the engineering program. Essential Qualifications & Experience: Masters degree in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, or a closely related field. Minimum 2 years of teaching experience in undergraduate engineering or technical programs. Solid understanding of mathematical theories and their practical applications in engineering contexts. Strong classroom management and presentation skills, capable of delivering to diverse student cohorts. Experience in designing outcome-based assessments aligned with vocational and international standards. Desirable Skills: Familiarity with vocational education systems. Ability to integrate technology and digital platforms into teaching and assessment. Involvement in research or innovation in mathematics education. Experience in curriculum design and program evaluation. Excellent communication skills in spoken/written English. Training & Support: Comprehensive OJT covering vocational pedagogy, assessment.
