Job Summary: The Turbine Operator is responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining steam, gas, or hydro turbines in a power plant to ensure efficient and safe power generation. The operator ensures compliance with operational procedures, safety standards, and environmental regulations while optimizing turbine performance. 1. Turbine Operation & Monitoring: Start, stop, and regulate turbine operations according to load demand and plant requirements. Monitor turbine parameters, such as temperature, pressure, vibrations, and speed, using control panels and computerized systems. Adjust controls to maintain optimal efficiency and prevent equipment damage. 2. Routine Inspections & Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections of turbines, pumps, generators, and auxiliary equipment. Identify and report any operational anomalies, leaks, or mechanical issues. Assist maintenance teams in troubleshooting and repairing turbine-related issues. 3. Safety & Compliance: Adhere to plant safety protocols and standard operating procedures (SOPs). Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, emission limits, and operational guidelines. Respond to alarms and emergency situations to prevent accidents and equipment failures 4. Performance Optimization: Analyze operational data and trends to improve turbine efficiency. Report any deviations from standard performance levels and suggest corrective actions. Collaborate with engineers and technicians to enhance plant operations.
