Job Title: System Administrator L ocation: kochi ob Type: Full-time Job Description: We are looking for a skilled and motivated System Administrator to join our IT team. The ideal candidate will have experience managing and maintaining the organization's IT infrastructure, ensuring the smooth operation of servers, networks, and hardware systems. As a System Administrator, you will be responsible for supporting day-to-day IT operations, implementing new systems, and troubleshooting any issues related to the IT environment. Key Responsibilities: System Maintenance & Support: Install, configure, and maintain servers, operating systems, and software applications. Monitor system performance and ensure all systems are running efficiently. Perform regular system backups and recovery tests to ensure data integrity. Network & Security: Manage and maintain network infrastructure, including routers, switches, and firewalls. Implement security protocols and updates to ensure the organizations network and systems are secure. Troubleshoot and resolve network issues, including connectivity and performance problems. User Support & Training: Provide technical support to end users, troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues. Train employees on software applications and systems. Administer user accounts and permissions, ensuring proper access control. Systems Configuration & Optimization: Configure and optimize server settings for maximum performance. Update and patch operating systems and applications as needed. Participate in the planning and execution of IT projects, including hardware upgrades and system migrations. Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate documentation for all system configurations, procedures, and network diagrams. Prepare reports on system performance, uptime, and other relevant metrics for management. Disaster Recovery & Backup: Develop and implement disaster recovery plans. Ensure that all systems have robust and tested backup solutions in place. Skills and Qualifications: Education: Bachelors degree OR diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (preferred). Experience: Proven experience as a System Administrator or similar IT role. Familiarity with server operating systems (Linux, Windows Server, etc.). Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V). Technical Skills: Knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, etc.). Experience with cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud). Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills. Familiarity with system monitoring tools (Nagios, Zabbix, etc.). Certifications (Preferred): CompTIA A+, Network+, or Security+. Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA), Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), or equivalent certifications. Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail. Excellent communication skills to interact with team members and end-users. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
