Job Title: Software Asset Management (SAM) Specialist Location: Bangalore, India Experience: 3+ Years Employment Type: Contractual Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Software Asset Management (SAM) Specialist to support and enhance our SAM program. The ideal candidate will have experience in IT Asset Management (ITAM), strong analytical and reporting skills, and a passion for driving process improvements and automation. This role offers the opportunity to work in a complex and dynamic environment supporting large-scale IT operations. Key Responsibilities: Support projects focused on enhancing, auditing, and maturing the SAM program, including data collection, documentation, and process improvements. Assist in developing and automating processes, procedures, SOPs, and WIs for efficient software asset management. Collaborate with IT teams to integrate SAM with relevant data source technologies, APIs, and discovery tools. Maintain accurate records of software assets, licenses, warranties, and agreements. Track and report on software assets, compliance, KPIs, and financial insights for cost optimization. Manage the software asset lifecycle, validate discovery data, and resolve discrepancies through regular audits. Provide licensing support, help design license metrics, and assist in administering SAM tools (e.g., ServiceNow SAM Pro). Prepare for software audits, implement compliance remediation, and generate compliance reports. Engage with key stakeholders (security, engineering, finance, vendor management, enterprise architecture) to ensure alignment with SAM standards and processes. Promote continuous improvement by staying updated with SAM best practices and participating in ongoing training and certifications. Required Qualifications: Bachelors degree in business, technology, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. 3+ years of IT Asset Management experience, with at least 1+ year in Software Asset Management (SAM) involving remediation, compliance metrics, and software data analysis. Proven ability to write ITAM standards, processes, and successfully complete complex ITAM-related projects. Advanced analytical, reporting, facilitation, and problem-solving skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to present to large audiences and all levels of an organization. Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work independently. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in developing ITAM programs, data, and processes. Experience with ServiceNow SAM Pro / HAM Pro administration and management. Familiarity with finance, vendor management, and contracts. Prior experience in healthcare or large, complex organizations. Client/stakeholder management and training experience on governance processes.
