Job Title: Shift Incharge Warehouse Operations

Location: Panchla, Howrah, West Bengal
Reporting To: Warehouse Manager
Employment Type: Full-time | Shift-based

Role Purpose:

To ensure smooth, safe, and efficient warehouse operations during the assigned shift, including inbound, outbound, inventory, and manpower supervision, in compliance with SOPs, EHS norms, and client service requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Shift Operations Management

• Oversee end-to-end shift activities including unloading, put-away, picking, packing, and dispatch.

• Ensure 100% adherence to FIFO/FEFO principles and batch/expiry management.

• Validate all system transactions in WMS/SAP for accuracy and timeliness.

• Prepare shift performance reports (productivity, TAT, damages, etc.).

2. Manpower Supervision

• Manage a team of warehouse associates, forklift operators, and loaders.

• Conduct daily shift briefings and debriefings with staff and contractors.

• Allocate work based on load plans, vehicle arrivals, and priorities.

• Ensure discipline, safety gear usage, and compliance by all shift personnel.

3. Inventory and Documentation

• Conduct system vs physical verification for critical SKUs during the shift.

• Ensure proper documentation for all inbound/outbound transactions (GRN, LR, gate pass, etc.).

• Highlight variances or abnormalities to the Warehouse Manager for resolution.

4. Safety, Compliance, and Housekeeping

• Enforce adherence to EHS and fire safety protocols during shift.

• Escalate incidents, accidents, or near misses with proper documentation.

5. Stakeholder Coordination

• Liaise with transporters, CFA staff, and Client Logistics for dispatch planning.

• Coordinate with maintenance for MHE breakdowns or system issues during shift.

• Work closely with security and quality teams for vehicle checks and product integrity.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

• Shift productivity (lines/hour or cases/manpower)

• Dispatch accuracy and TAT adherence

• Damage, short/excess variance

• Safety incident-free shifts

• WMS/SAP transaction accuracy

Desired Candidate Profile:

Education:

• Graduate (Any stream); 

• SAP/WMS knowledge desirable

Experience:

• 2 to 5 years in warehouse/logistics operations, preferably FMCG or 3PL-managed sites

• Exposure to shift management and automated systems

Skills:

• Strong people and process management

• Basic Excel and report preparation

• Familiarity with safety and compliance requirements

• Ability to work under pressure and in rotational shifts

Shift Timing:

Rotational 1st, 2nd, and Night shift as per operational requirements
