Job Title: Senior Mechanical Engineer Location: Bangalore Company: Skillzenith Consulting Job Type: Full-Time Department: Engineering About our client: The client we are sourcing for caters to various customers in the field of Automobile Industries, Auto Component Manufacturers Defence, Railways, Aerospace Sectors, Public & Private industries like HAL, BHEL, DAE, etc Position Summary: The Senior Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for leading the mechanical design and development of automation systems, ensuring the highest standards of quality, reliability, and efficiency. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, software developers, and project managers, to deliver state-of-the-art automation solutions that meet customer requirements. Key Responsibilities: Design & Development: Lead the mechanical design of automated systems, including robotics, conveyors, and custom machinery, from concept through production. Prototyping & Testing: Develop prototypes, conduct testing, and iterate designs to achieve optimal performance and reliability. Project Management: Manage engineering projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and budget, while meeting all technical specifications. Documentation: Prepare detailed engineering documentation, including CAD drawings, BOMs (Bill of Materials), and user manuals. Collaboration: Work closely with other engineering disciplines (electrical, software) to ensure seamless integration of mechanical components into the overall system. Supplier Management: Interface with vendors and suppliers to source components and materials, ensuring quality and cost-effectiveness. Compliance: Ensure designs comply with industry standards and regulatory requirements, including safety, environmental, and quality standards. Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for improving design processes, reducing costs, and enhancing product quality. Qualifications: Education: Diploma/ Bachelors or Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Experience: 5+ years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in the industrial automation or manufacturing sector Technical Skills: Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar). Strong understanding of mechanical systems, including robotics, pneumatics, and hydraulics. Experience in automation /Machine tool industries Experience in concept development Having experience in handling project Independently Having experience in handling team Experience in coordination with production, assembly, vendors & Suppliers Experience in handling technical issue at site Experience with finite element analysis (FEA) and other simulation tools. Knowledge of materials science and manufacturing processes, including machining, welding, and additive manufacturing. Preferred Skills: Project Management: Proven experience in managing complex engineering projects, with strong organizational and leadership skills. Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot and solve complex mechanical problems with innovative solutions. Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present technical information clearly to stakeholders. Teamwork: Strong interpersonal skills with a collaborative mindset, capable of working effectively in multidisciplinary teams. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in designing automation systems for industries such as automotive, electronics, or food & beverage. Familiarity with Industry 4.0 technologies, including IoT, machine learning, and digital twins. Certification in project management (PMP, Six Sigma, etc.). Experience with product lifecycle management (PLM) systems.
