Job Description
As a Senior Database Administrator at the National Informatics Centre in Delhi, you will be responsible for various key tasks related to SQL Server database administration. With over 5 years of experience in this field, you will play a crucial role in managing database instances, configuring Microsoft SQL Server, and ensuring high availability through features like Always On availability groups and failover clustering. Your duties will include facilitating meetings with clients to understand their business systems and requirements, implementing database backup and recovery methods, ensuring database access security, and maintaining data storage administration. Additionally, you will be involved in selecting and maintaining a suitable database management system, adhering to best practices for system architecture, and continuously improving processes to enhance performance. You will also be responsible for installing SQL Server service packs and updates, configuring and maintaining SQL Security controls, monitoring and troubleshooting maintenance tasks, tuning T-SQL queries, handling database migrations and updates, and integrating SQL Server with corporate applications. Furthermore, you will create documentation, provide training for routine database administration activities, and assist in ETL processes into SQL Server. Your role will involve working on various technical aspects such as SQL Versions, auditing SQL Server users, database backup strategies, Always On availability, performance optimization through index creation, In Memory Tables, handling database crashes, data replication, security management, and preventing deadlocks.
