Job Description

The QC Inspector will be responsible for conducting in-line inspection of automotive components during the manufacturing process. The role ensures that components meet the required quality standards as per control plans, drawings, and customer specifications.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform in-process inspection and line patrol checks at various stages of manufacturing.
  • Verify parts against engineering drawings, specifications, and control plans.
  • Check dimensions, visual appearance, and functional aspects of components using appropriate measuring instruments.
  • Record inspection results and maintain inspection documentation as per IATF 16949 standards.
  • Identify non-conformities and report deviations immediately to the concerned supervisor.
  • Assist in root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective action implementation for quality issues.
  • Ensure compliance with 5S, Kaizen, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) on the shop floor.
  • Communicate effectively with production, quality, and engineering teams regarding inspection status and issues.
  • Support internal and external audits and quality improvement initiatives.



Qualifications and Skills:

  • Diploma or ITI in Mechanical Engineering / Automobile / Production or related field.
  • 1 to 4 years of hands-on experience in in-line inspection in an automotive component manufacturing setup.
  • Familiar with IATF 16949 / ISO 9001 quality systems and documentation.
  • Proficient in using measuring instruments such as vernier calipers, micrometers, height gauges, gauges, etc.
  • Basic understanding of engineering drawings, GD&T, and quality standards.
  • Good communication and documentation skills.
  • Attention to detail, proactive, and a strong team player.



Preferred:

  • Prior experience in forging, machining, plastic, or sheet metal components.
  • Exposure to PPAP, FMEA, SPC, and MSA (is a plus, not mandatory).
  • Knowledge of MS Excel / basic computer usage.
