As a purchaser with maritime experience, you will play a crucial role in predicting supply requirements, planning optimal stocks, and staying updated on material needs within the shipping division. Your responsibilities will include sourcing, evaluating, and controlling suppliers locally and overseas to ensure quality materials, timely delivery, and cost-effectiveness. You will be expected to negotiate favorable terms with suppliers in collaboration with the Technical department, conduct value analysis of purchases, and evaluate suppliers based on feedback to maintain the Company's approved list. Regular stock-taking and spot checks are essential to optimize inventory and ensure compliance with purchasing guidelines. Furthermore, you will contribute to Health, Safety, and Environmental improvements, process invoices in a timely manner, conduct supplier evaluations, and maintain records of feedback from supplied goods and vessel suppliers. Keeping vessel managers informed about budget statuses is also part of your role. To excel in this position, you should ideally hold a degree/diploma in a technical field with exposure to commercial activities. A comprehensive understanding of the global marine supplier market, technical terminology in the marine environment, and at least 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in an industrial or marine setting, is preferred. Familiarity with Incoterms, proficiency in computer skills, advanced communication abilities, and a proactive approach are essential. Additionally, your ability to effectively interact with both technical and non-technical personnel will be crucial for success in this role.,
