Job Description
As a Purchasing Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the procurement of goods and services for the company or for resale. Your role will involve leading a team to ensure the best quality products and services are acquired at the most competitive prices. Some of your key duties will include: - Negotiating: Acting as the company's representative in supplier negotiations and securing favorable purchase agreements. - Evaluating suppliers: Researching potential suppliers, comparing costs, and verifying the security and sustainability of sources. - Managing vendors: Cultivating strong relationships with vendors to maintain a smooth supply chain. - Developing strategies: Formulating and executing purchasing strategies while incorporating industry best practices. - Tracking metrics: Analyzing costs, monitoring key performance indicators, and identifying and addressing potential risks. - Inventory management: Forecasting demand, monitoring inventory levels, and establishing effective inventory controls. - Quality assurance: Ensuring the quality and compliance of procured goods through the implementation of quality control measures. - Other responsibilities: Implementing purchasing and recordkeeping systems, managing departmental budgets, and coordinating surplus material disposal.
