Key Responsibilities: Database Installation and Configuration: Install, configure, and manage PostgreSQL databases. Optimize database performance through tuning and configuration. Implement data replication and high availability strategies. Data Modeling: Design and implement PostgreSQL data models that align with application requirements. Optimize data schema for efficient querying and updates. Performance Tuning: Monitor database performance and identify bottlenecks. Tune PostgreSQL settings to improve query response times and throughput. Optimize data distribution and indexing strategies. Backup and Recovery: Implement and maintain backup and recovery procedures. Test disaster recovery plans regularly. Security & Troubleshooting: Implement security measures to protect PostgreSQL data. Manage access controls and permissions. Monitor for security threats and vulnerabilities. Diagnose and resolve PostgreSQL-related issues. Analyze logs and metrics to identify problems. Provide technical support to development teams. Requirements Required Skills and Qualifications: Strong understanding of PostgreSQL architecture and concepts. Experience with relational databases and data modelling. Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python). Knowledge of database administration concepts (e.g., backups, replication, tuning). Experience with performance tuning & optimization. Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Strong communication and collaboration skills.
