Network and System Engineer

Experience: 0-2 Years

Key Responsibilities:

• Network Design and Implementation: Design and implement local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), and other network infrastructure components based on organizational requirements. This includes configuring switches, routers, firewalls, and other networking equipment.
• System Administration: Administer and maintain servers, including operating system installation, configuration, patching, and performance tuning. Monitor system health, diagnose and resolve system issues, and ensure system security and data integrity.
• Network and System Troubleshooting: Identify and troubleshoot network and system issues, analyze root causes, and implement appropriate solutions in a timely manner. Collaborate with other IT team members to resolve complex technical problems.
• Network and System Security: Implement and maintain network and system security measures, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, virtual private networks (VPNs), and other security technologies. Ensure compliance with organizational security policies and industry best practices.
• Documentation and Reporting: Create and maintain network and system documentation, including network diagrams, system configurations, and standard operating procedures. Generate reports on network and system performance, availability, and utilization.
• Technical Support: Provide technical support to end users, including troubleshooting and resolving network and system-related issues. Provide timely and effective communication and assistance to end users, both remotely and onsite.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in network and system engineering or a related role.
• Strong understanding of networking concepts and protocols, such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and routing protocols.
• Hands-on experience with networking equipment, such as switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless access points.
• Knowledge of server operating systems, such as Windows Server and Linux, and system administration tasks, including installation, configuration, patching, and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with network and system security concepts, tools, and best practices.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
