Job Description

You will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and order of the lab, including housekeeping of tools, glassware, accessories, workbench, and cleaning materials. Additionally, you will assist in metallographic sample preparation by cutting, mounting, and polishing samples as per instructions. Light microscopy tasks will also be assigned to you. Your duties will include ensuring the availability of lab consumables such as gloves, lab wipes, and other consumables. You will be required to collect and transport materials and chemicals for the lab from designated areas. Proper labelling and storage of samples will be part of your responsibilities. Monitoring gas and compressed air pressure gauges, changing oil in vacuum pumps, and checking water levels in coolers are tasks that you will perform regularly. You will also be responsible for monitoring control panels for normal operation and detecting any abnormalities. Furthermore, you will need to accompany contractors and service personnel as required.
