The role of a Lab Assistant involves performing high-quality experiments, collecting data, and ensuring quality control measures are in place for all specimens. You will be responsible for monitoring the lab to ensure cleanliness and safety regulations are met, as well as performing testing in line with the company's ethos and vision. Additionally, you will assist senior lab assistants and work collaboratively with them. Your responsibilities will include sterilizing, maintaining, and cleaning lab equipment, documenting all results and activities, and reporting them to senior lab assistants and management. It is essential to comply with company policies and regulations throughout all stages of the experiments. Staying informed about the latest advancements in science and laboratory techniques is crucial, along with performing administrative tasks like handling phone calls, filling forms, and maintaining paperwork. To qualify for this role, you should hold a Bachelor's degree in biology, biological sciences, or a related discipline. Prior experience as a lab assistant or junior lab assistant is preferred, along with a keen understanding of laboratory practices and procedures. You must possess the dexterity and precision required to conduct experiments and be able to work long hours while standing. Preferred qualifications include a BSc or diploma in medical lab technology and excellent time management skills.
