Key responsibilities include selecting appropriate AWS services, creating VPCs, subnets, security groups, and network connectivity, as well as planning for disaster recovery, fault tolerance, and data backup. Additionally, ensuring security compliance, governance, and optimizing infrastructure costs are essential aspects of the role. The ideal candidate for this position should possess strong architectural thinking and design patterns, along with a deep understanding of AWS services at an architectural level. Experience in network design, storage options, and compute choices is crucial. Cloud AWS Infrastructure Architects often collaborate on creating architecture diagrams and providing guidance to engineering teams.
