Job Description

As a Garment Merchandizer, you play a crucial role in the fashion supply chain by coordinating and overseeing the production and delivery of garments from concept to completion. Your responsibilities include working closely with designers, buyers, suppliers, and manufacturers to ensure that products are developed, manufactured, and delivered on time and within budget, meeting quality standards and customer expectations. You will collaborate with designers and buyers to understand product requirements, including style, materials, and cost targets. Sourcing and selecting appropriate fabrics, trims, and accessories based on design requirements and cost considerations is also a key responsibility. Negotiating prices, delivery schedules, and terms with suppliers and manufacturers, as well as coordinating and monitoring production processes to ensure timely delivery of finished products, are crucial tasks. As a Garment Merchandizer, you will conduct quality inspections at various stages of production to ensure products meet specified quality standards. Managing inventory levels and optimizing stock levels to meet demand forecasts and minimize excess inventory is also part of your role. Developing and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers and manufacturers, monitoring market trends, consumer preferences, and competitor activities to identify opportunities and risks, and preparing and presenting reports on sales forecasts, budgets, and project timelines are essential responsibilities.
