Field Service Engineer Santek

As a Diesel Generator Technician at SANTEK you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and servicing of diesel generators and associated electrical and mechanical systems at various sites. This role requires hands-on technical expertise, physical strength, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:

1. DG Unloading

  * Safely unload diesel generators from transport vehicles using cranes or forklifts.

  * Inspect generators for transport damage and report findings.

2. Panel Work

  * Install and wire control panels for DG systems.

  * Ensure proper connections between panels and generator sets as per schematics.

3. Exhaust Pipe Installation

  * Fit and align exhaust pipes from generators to discharge locations.

  * Ensure compliance with safety and emission standards.

4. Electrical Work

  * Conduct electrical wiring, testing, and troubleshooting.

  * Assist senior electricians in load balancing and breaker installations.

5. Welding

  * Perform basic welding tasks for mounting structures, exhaust pipe supports, or DG enclosures.

6. Oil Service

  * Change engine oil, fuel filters, and air filters during routine servicing.

  * Maintain a service log and checklist for each generator.

7. Generator AMC (Annual Maintenance Contract)

  * Perform preventive maintenance as per AMC schedules.

  * Respond to breakdown calls and maintain uptime as per SLA (Service Level Agreement).

8. Cable Measurements on Site

  * Accurately take measurements for cable lengths and routes.

  * Assist in planning and laying of cables from DG sets to load centers.

9. Earthing Work

  * Install and test earth pits and connections for safety compliance.

  * Conduct earthing resistance tests and maintain records.

10. Foundation Work

* Assist in laying concrete foundations for DG sets and related equipment.

* Ensure leveling, alignment, and anchoring of generator bases.

11. Cable Work

* Lay, terminate, and test power and control cables.

* Ensure cable dressing and tagging for easy identification.

Skills and Qualifications:

* ITI/Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, or a related field.

* Fresher/ 2+ years of experience in DG installation and maintenance.

* Familiarity with diesel engine operations and basic troubleshooting.

* Ability to read electrical and mechanical drawings.

* Knowledge of safety standards and best practices in generator installation.

* Good physical health and willingness to work at field sites
