Job Description
The Farm Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the day-to-day operations of a farm. They direct and coordinate worker activities, supervise crop production, and maintain the farm property. As a Farm Manager, you'll need to have a strong understanding of agricultural practices, as well as excellent leadership and communication skills.
The Farm Manager will be responsible for:
- Overseeing day-to-day operations of the farm including planting, harvesting, irrigation, and pest control.
- Managing a team of farm workers and providing guidance, training, and motivation.
- Implementing sustainable farming practices that conserve natural resources and reduce environmental impact.
- Developing and maintaining budgets, schedules, and reports to ensure efficiency and profitability.
- Ensuring that all equipment, tools, and machinery are well-maintained, serviced, and repaired.
- Establishing and maintaining relationships with vendors, buyers, and regulators to ensure compliance with laws and regulations.
- Assisting with marketing, sales, and distribution of farm products through direct sales or collaboration with retailers and distributors.
- Conducting research and development to improve crop yields, product quality, and profitability.
