The Fabricator/Welder position involves constructing, assembling, and repairing metal structures and components by interpreting blueprints, selecting materials, and utilizing welding techniques to produce high-quality products. The ideal candidate will possess a strong attention to detail, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. Key Responsibilities: - Interpret technical drawings and specifications to determine layout and required materials for fabrication. - Cut, shape, and assemble metal components using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment. - Perform various welding processes (MIG, TIG, stick) to join metal parts together, ensuring strong and precise welds. - Inspect completed work for accuracy, alignment, and quality, making necessary adjustments. - Maintain and repair tools and equipment to ensure they are in good working condition. - Follow safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe working environment. - Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and team members to meet project deadlines and specifications. - Identify and resolve issues during fabrication and welding processes. Qualifications: - High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in welding or metal fabrication preferred. - Proven experience as a fabricator/welder or in a similar role. - Proficiency in reading blueprints and technical drawings. - Strong knowledge of various welding techniques and equipment. - Ability to work with various metals such as steel, aluminum, and stainless steel. - Excellent attention to detail, strong manual dexterity, and ability to work independently and in a team. - Strong communication skills. Physical Requirements: - Ability to lift heavy materials and equipment. - Comfortable working in various environmental conditions (heat, cold, confined spaces). - Prolonged periods of standing, bending, and manual labor. Working Conditions: - Primarily works in a manufacturing or workshop environment. - Exposure to noise, dust, and fumes; appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn at all times.
