CloudMatos is transforming the cloud security landscape and is in search of an experienced VP of Engineering to spearhead the development of cutting-edge, scalable, and secure cloud applications. If you possess a deep passion for cloud technology and have hands-on expertise in constructing robust and secure systems, this opportunity is tailor-made for you. As the VP of Engineering, your primary responsibility will be to oversee the development of scalable, secure applications from inception to deployment at CloudMatos.ai. This pivotal role necessitates active involvement in coding, technical design, API development, secure coding practices, and architectural decisions. Collaborating closely with product teams, you will offer technical leadership, ensuring that security is ingrained at every stage of the software development life cycle. You will be entrusted with several key responsibilities, including spearheading the development of secure, scalable cloud applications, driving the software development life cycle comprehensively, maintaining hands-on involvement in Python development (with Go experience being a bonus), architecting and implementing secure code and applications, defining and implementing new product features, establishing security best practices across the engineering organization, providing technical leadership and mentorship to the engineering team, troubleshooting issues efficiently, engaging with customers to understand their requirements, and ensuring the integration of security, scalability, and reliability throughout the development process. The ideal candidate should possess 10-15 years of hands-on software development experience across the end-to-end SDLC, with a strong proficiency in Python (Go experience is advantageous), extensive expertise in API development and integration, a track record of building and securing scalable applications in a startup environment, proficiency in secure coding, architecture, and deployment, a knack for developing secure code and applications, experience in building scalable cloud applications (GCP experience is a plus), adeptness in managing and mentoring engineering teams in high-pressure environments, troubleshooting technical issues while upholding security standards, a solid understanding of modern cloud infrastructure, APIs, and security protocols, and the ability to excel in a dynamic, fast-paced startup setting. Desirable qualifications include experience with the Go programming language, familiarity with GCP, knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices, and an understanding of microservices architecture and containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
