About the Role We are looking for a skilled Electron Developer to join our team in building a desktop-based Retail Point of Sale (POS) system. Youll work closely with our React front-end developers and backend team to create a seamless, cross-platform POS application. This role focuses on the desktop application layer, hardware integration, and bridging frontend and backend communication. Key Responsibilities Build and maintain the desktop POS application using Electron JS. Collaborate with React developers on the frontend and backend engineers on APIs and data flows. Implement features like receipt printing, barcode scanning, and other hardware integrations. Handle local storage (e.g., SQLite, IndexedDB) and manage offline capabilities. Ensure smooth communication between the UI and backend services via Electrons main and renderer processes. Package and deploy the desktop app for Windows/macOS/Linux as required. Contribute to code quality, structure, and performance optimizations. Skills Required Strong experience with Electron JS for desktop app development. Proficient in JavaScript/TypeScript, Node.js, and Electron's main/renderer process structure. Understanding of how to bridge web UIs (e.g., React) with desktop app functionality. Experience working with local storage solutions like SQLite. Knowledge of hardware integration (printers, scanners) is a big plus. Familiar with desktop app packaging and deployment tools (e.g., Electron Forge, Electron Builder). Bonus Skills Exposure to React (for collaboration) Experience with offline-first apps or local-sync mechanisms. Familiarity with retail workflows or POS systems.
