Job Description

Job Purpose:

To ensure adherence to all environmental, health, and safety regulations and internal policies through routine plant rounds, employee awareness, compliance monitoring, training, and day-to-day coordination of EHS activities.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Plant Safety Rounds & Monitoring

• Conduct daily EHS rounds on the shop floor and utility areas.

• Identify and report unsafe acts and conditions; ensure timely rectification.

• Maintain records of observations and follow-ups with concerned departments.

2. Safety Compliance

• Ensure compliance with statutory requirements 

• Support in EHS audits (internal, external, ISO 45001, ISO 14001).

3. Safety Observations & Incident Reporting

• Record unsafe conditions, near-miss incidents, and accidents.

• Assist in root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective action planning.

• Maintain and update the Safety Observation Register and Incident Log Book.

4. Safety Awareness & Communication

• Conduct toolbox talks, safety briefings, and awareness sessions regularly.

• Support Safety Campaigns, Safety Week, and Mock Drills.

• Prepare and display safety posters, banners, and signages on the shop floor.

5. EHS Induction & Training

• Conduct EHS induction for new joiners, trainees, and contractual workers.

• Maintain training records and attendance.

• Coordinate with HR and departments for refresher training schedules.

6. Day-to-Day EHS Operations

• Ensure availability and upkeep of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).

• Conduct routine inspections of fire extinguishers, emergency exits, first-aid kits, and safety devices.

• Assist in waste disposal monitoring and environmental control activities.

Key Skills & Knowledge:

• In-depth knowledge of EHS laws and industrial safety norms.

• Familiar with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 systems.

• Incident investigation and root cause analysis.

• Effective communication and training skills.

• Basic knowledge of firefighting and emergency response.
