Job Description
You are a skilled driver with a good driving record, looking to join our team as a driver (Ambulance / school bus / personal driver). To succeed in this role, you must hold a valid driver's license and maintain an excellent driving record. A top-notch driver thrives under pressure and demonstrates compassion when assisting patients. Responsibilities: - Before each shift, inspect the vehicle, checking fuel, oil, transmission fluid, wiper fluid, and coolant, and report any necessary repairs. - For ambulance drivers, check the first aid and medical supplies inventory levels before each shift and ensure the ambulance is well-stocked. - Assist patients onto gurneys and load them into the ambulance. - Drive the ambulance swiftly and safely to transport patients to the hospital. - Provide first aid or administer oxygen if necessary before reaching the hospital. - Sanitize the ambulance and dispose of any medical waste and soiled linens safely. - Maintain a driving log with daily entries, noting patients" names and addresses, travel times, mileage, and services provided. - Report accident details to medical personnel and police officers when required. - Knowledge of radio transmission codes is essential. - Possession of emergency vehicle operator certification may be advantageous. - Demonstrate excellent defensive driving skills and map reading abilities. - Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required. - Ability to remain calm under pressure and reassure frightened patients. - Exhibit good judgment, decision-making skills, and physical agility.
