Job Description
Designation: Cost Estimation Engineer Min Exp Required: 2-5 Years Preferred Experience in Toolroom, Tooling Design, Plastic Product Development (NPD), Education: B.Tech/BE/ Diploma in Mechanical / Production Engineer, NTTF (Tool & Die Making). What you'll do: Feasibility review of Plastic Injection moulded parts. Manufacturing lead time and cost estimation for injection moulds. Calculations to estimate the mould dimensions, construction, Gate/Runner Type & Location, Tonnage calculation (Moulding machine selection), requirement of cooling fixture / inspection gauge. Various plastic raw materials and its processing requirements & limitations. Conceptualize tool design (2 plate mould, 3 plate moulds, HRS systems, various gating considerations, insert moulding, sliders, cams, 2 stage ejector systems). Process understanding for injection moulding (part wall thickness, drafts etc). Knowledge of Process flow for injection moulded parts Mould manufacturing processes, Various machining methods, Machining time estimation, Heat treatment process, Steel selection for critical mould parts. Prepare detail mould manufacturing plan Periodic review and update. Injection moulding process parameter understanding. Understanding of Quality documents APQP, FMEA, PPAP, 5QC Tools & Problem-solving techniques. Process understanding to develop parts of expected quality with min cost & min time to develop the part. Continual improvements in processes to improve upon Quality, cost, delivery & Timeline. Metal part (Sheet metal, Fabrication, Fasteners) development, process knowledge will be having an extra preference.,
