Job Description

Job Summary:We are seeking a skilled and experienced Indian Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will specialize in preparing authentic Indian cuisine, demonstrating a deep understanding of regional flavors, cooking techniques, and ingredients. You will be responsible for preparing and presenting high-quality dishes that reflect traditional and contemporary Indian culinary standards.

  • Key Responsibilities:Prepare a wide range of Indian dishes, including North Indian, South Indian, Mughlai, and street food-style meals.
  • Develop and plan menus that are authentic, seasonal, and cost-effective.
  • Ensure the kitchen operates efficiently and maintains high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
  • Supervise kitchen staff and assist in training junior cooks in Indian culinary techniques.
  • Monitor inventory and order ingredients as needed.
  • Ensure all food preparation meets quality standards and adheres to health and safety regulations.
  • Adapt recipes for dietary requirements and customer preferences.
  • Maintain consistency in taste, presentation, and portion control.
  • Participate in events, catering, or buffet services as needed.
  • Qualifications and Skills:Proven experience as an Indian Chef or in a similar role in a commercial kitchen.
  • In-depth knowledge of traditional Indian ingredients, spices, and cooking techniques.
  • Culinary degree or equivalent certification (preferred but not mandatory).
  • Strong understanding of food hygiene and safety standards.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressure.
  • Creativity and passion for Indian cuisine.
  • Preferred Experience:Minimum 3-5 years of experience in Indian cooking.
  • Experience in international kitchens or fusion cuisine is a plus.
  • Experience in menu development and cost control.
  • Work Conditions:Flexible working hours, including weekends and holidays.
  • Physically demanding; standing for long periods and handling hot kitchen equipment.
