Job Description

Overview: The Channel Sales Manager is responsible for developing, managing, and expanding a network of channel partners (distributors, resellers, etc.) to drive revenue growth and increase market share. This role requires a strategic thinker with a proven track record of building and nurturing relationships, executing sales strategies, and exceeding targets through indirect sales channels. The ideal candidate will be a results-oriented, self-starter with a deep understanding of channel sales dynamics and a passion for technology and partnerships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Channel Strategy and Execution:

  • Develop and implement strategic channel sales plans to achieve and exceed revenue and market share targets.
  • Identify, recruit, and onboard new channel partners to expand market reach and penetration.
  • Create and manage partner programs, including incentives, training, and marketing support, to ensure partner engagement and success.
  • Relationship Management:

  • Build, maintain, and strengthen relationships with key channel partners, fostering a collaborative and mutually beneficial ecosystem.
  • Conduct regular business reviews with partners to review performance, address challenges, and identify new growth opportunities.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for channel partners, ensuring their needs are met and conflicts are resolved in a timely and effective manner.
  • Sales and Performance Management:

  • Monitor and analyze sales data, market trends, and competitor activities to track performance and inform strategic decisions.
  • Provide sales forecasts and reports to senior management, offering insights into channel performance and market conditions.
  • Collaborate with internal sales, marketing, and product teams to align channel strategies with overall business objectives and ensure partners have the necessary resources and product knowledge.
  • Training and Enablement:

  • Provide comprehensive training to channel partners on product knowledge, sales techniques, and market positioning.
  • Ensure partners are equipped with the tools, resources, and marketing collateral needed to effectively sell the company's products and services.
  • Work with marketing to develop and execute joint marketing campaigns and initiatives to generate leads and drive sales through the channel.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in channel sales, partner management, or a related sales role, with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Skills & Competencies:

  • Proven ability to develop and execute effective channel sales strategies.
  • Strong relationship-building and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and negotiate.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in CRM software (e.g., Salesforce) and sales analytics tools.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
  • Self-motivated, results-oriented, and able to work independently.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to travel as required for partner meetings, industry events, and trade shows.
