Job description: A CAD Operator/Draftsman creates detailed technical drawings and plans for civil engineering projects using computer-aided design (CAD) software. They translate concepts and specifications into precise blueprints, ensuring accuracy and adherence to project requirements. Their responsibilities include preparing 2D and 3D models, updating and revising drawings, and collaborating with engineers and architects. Key Responsibilities: Drawing Creation:Utilize CAD software (like AutoCAD) to create detailed technical drawings and plans for civil engineering projects, including site plans, road layouts, drainage systems, and structural elements. Model Development:Develop 2D and 3D models of civil engineering structures and infrastructure. Drawing Management:Organize, maintain, and manage drawing files, ensuring proper version control and accessibility. Collaboration:Work closely with engineers, architects, and other team members to understand project requirements and incorporate feedback into designs. Revision and Updates:Revise and update drawings as needed to reflect design changes, incorporating feedback and ensuring accuracy. Quality Control:Review drawings for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to relevant industry standards and regulations. Technical Support:Provide technical support to project teams, including generating shop drawings and other construction documents. Required Skills and Qualifications: Proficiency in CAD software, particularly AutoCAD. Strong understanding of civil engineering principles and construction practices.
