Job Description
As the Operational Risk Manager at Standard Chartered, you will play a crucial role in facilitating and promoting understanding of operational risk and compliance requirements within the Business Unit. Your responsibilities will include continuously evaluating operational risk implications of business strategies, providing guidance on risk remediation, assisting in driving Retail Banking COO initiatives, and ensuring adherence to operational risk deadlines. You will lead the implementation of operational risk initiatives, oversee Risk Acceptance requests for material risks, and ensure compliance with control standards through the Control Sample Testing process. Additionally, you will be responsible for maintaining the accuracy and completeness of risk tracking system data, investigating operational losses, identifying non-standard processes, and communicating effectively with stakeholders on operational risk issues. Collaboration with Business Head and SORO, reporting operational risk and losses to relevant forums, designing control measures, and monitoring compliance are key aspects of your role. You will also coordinate business monitoring activities, support in money laundering prevention efforts, arrange training on compliance and operational risk, and conduct gap analysis between regulatory requirements and internal processes. In terms of key responsibilities, you will be driving compliance in Sourcing channels and products team while aligning with the bank's strategy, understanding business banking operations, reviewing processes, and developing talent within the team. Your skills and experience should include a minimum Graduate or Post Graduate qualification with relevant Business Banking and Medium Enterprise industry experience.
