About Capital Engineering Consultancy

Job Description

Develop HVAC BIM Models: Create and maintain accurate 3D models of HVAC systems (ductwork, piping, mechanical equipment, etc.) using BIM software (e.g., Revit, AutoCAD MEP, Navisworks). Collaborate with HVAC Engineers: Work closely with HVAC engineers to ensure the models align with engineering specifications, design criteria, and project requirements. Clash Detection & Resolution: Conduct clash detection to identify and resolve conflicts between HVAC systems and other building systems (electrical, plumbing, structural) to ensure smooth coordination and integration. Model Coordination: Collaborate with other disciplines (architectural, structural, MEP) to ensure HVAC models are accurately integrated within the overall building design. Update and Maintain Models: Regularly update and revise the HVAC BIM models based on design changes, revisions, or site conditions. Generate Drawings and Reports: Produce detailed HVAC system drawings (duct layouts, equipment schedules, piping systems) directly from the BIM models, ensuring compliance with client and regulatory requirements. System Simulation: Use BIM tools to simulate the performance of HVAC systems and assist in system optimization for efficiency and functionality. Project Documentation: Assist in the preparation of project documentation, including material lists, project specifications, and system performance data. Requirements: Education: Bachelor's degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience). Experience: Proven experience as an HVAC BIM Modeler or in a similar role within the construction, MEP, or building services industry. Proficient in BIM Software: Proficiency in BIM software tools such as Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD MEP, Navisworks, and others used in HVAC modeling. HVAC Knowledge: In-depth understanding of HVAC systems, including ductwork, piping, mechanical equipment (fans, chillers, boilers), and ventilation systems. Preferred Qualifications: Certifications: Certification in BIM tools like Revit, AutoCAD MEP, or other relevant software. Advanced Knowledge of BIM Processes: Familiarity with 4D scheduling (time simulation) or 5D cost estimation in BIM. Software Familiarity: Experience with additional software such as Navisworks, Dynamo, or similar for clash detection, system analysis, or parametric modeling. HVAC Industry Standards: Familiarity with HVAC design codes, regulations, and standards (ASHRAE, SMACNA, etc.). Building Information Modeling (BIM) Standards: Knowledge of BIM execution plans, protocols, and industry standards such as ISO 19650. Job Type: Full-time,
