Job Description

A Barista's primary role is to prepare and serve coffee and other beverages, handle customer orders, and maintain a clean and organized workspace. They are also responsible for operating coffee equipment, processing payments, and providing excellent customer service. A high school diploma or equivalent is often required, along with strong communication and multi-tasking skills. 


Key Responsibilities:

  • Beverage Preparation:
  • Preparing a variety of hot and cold beverages, including coffee, tea, and specialty drinks, according to customer preferences and established recipes. 
  • Customer Service:
  • Greeting customers, taking orders, providing recommendations, and addressing customer inquiries or concerns. 
  • Equipment Operation:
  • Operating coffee machines, grinders, blenders, and other equipment safely and efficiently. 
  • Cash Handling:
  • Processing payments accurately, including cash and credit card transactions. 
  • Cleanliness & Organization:
  • Maintaining a clean and organized workspace, including cleaning equipment, restocking supplies, and ensuring a tidy environment. 
  • Food Preparation:
  • Preparing simple food items like pastries and sandwiches, as needed. 
  • Inventory Management:
  • Assisting with inventory management, including ordering and stocking supplies.

  • Communication:
  • Strong verbal communication skills to interact with customers and team members.

  • Ability to provide excellent customer service and create a positive experience.

  • Knowledge of Coffee:
  • Understanding of coffee brewing methods, different types of coffee beans, and basic latte art.

  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation guidelines.
