Job Description
A Barista's primary role is to prepare and serve coffee and other beverages, handle customer orders, and maintain a clean and organized workspace. They are also responsible for operating coffee equipment, processing payments, and providing excellent customer service. A high school diploma or equivalent is often required, along with strong communication and multi-tasking skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Beverage Preparation:
- Preparing a variety of hot and cold beverages, including coffee, tea, and specialty drinks, according to customer preferences and established recipes.
- Customer Service:
- Greeting customers, taking orders, providing recommendations, and addressing customer inquiries or concerns.
- Equipment Operation:
- Operating coffee machines, grinders, blenders, and other equipment safely and efficiently.
- Cash Handling:
- Processing payments accurately, including cash and credit card transactions.
- Cleanliness & Organization:
- Maintaining a clean and organized workspace, including cleaning equipment, restocking supplies, and ensuring a tidy environment.
- Food Preparation:
- Preparing simple food items like pastries and sandwiches, as needed.
- Inventory Management:
- Assisting with inventory management, including ordering and stocking supplies.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Communication:
- Strong verbal communication skills to interact with customers and team members.
- Customer Service:
- Ability to provide excellent customer service and create a positive experience.
- Multi-tasking:
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, especially during busy periods.
