Job Summary: We are seeking a talented and creative Bakery Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for baking and a keen eye for detail, responsible for preparing a wide variety of goods such as cakes, cookies, pies, bread, and pastries. This role requires adherence to health and safety standards, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities: Recipe Development and Preparation: Develop and test new recipes. Prepare and bake a variety of products including bread, cakes, cookies, pies, pastries, and other baked goods. Adjust and improve recipes for taste, texture, and presentation. Baking and Decoration: Decorate cakes and pastries to meet customer specifications and standards. Ensure consistency in the quality of baked goods. Ingredient Management: Select and source high-quality ingredients. Measure and mix ingredients accurately. Maintain inventory and manage stock levels to ensure freshness and availability. Hygiene and Safety: Maintain a clean and organized kitchen. Adhere to food safety and sanitation standards. Properly store ingredients and finished products. Customer Interaction: Interact with customers to take orders and provide recommendations. Customize orders for special occasions like weddings, birthdays, and corporate events. Team Collaboration: Train and supervise junior staff or apprentices. Work collaboratively with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operation. Qualifications: Education and Experience: Diploma or degree in Culinary Arts, Baking and Pastry Arts, or a related field. Proven experience as a Bakery Chef or similar role in a professional kitchen. Skills and Abilities: Strong knowledge of baking techniques and ingredients. Creativity and artistic ability in decorating and presenting baked goods. Excellent time management and organizational skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for long periods. Capacity to lift heavy bags of flour, sugar, and other ingredients. Manual dexterity for precise decorating work.
