You will be responsible for assisting the Pastry chef in managing and overseeing a designated section of the kitchen in the Bakery and Pastry department. Your role will involve preparing and baking desserts to a high standard, maintaining consistency and quality, and contributing to the smooth and efficient operation of the kitchen. Key Responsibilities: - Assist in preparing and baking desserts according to the restaurant's standards and recipes. - Maintain a high level of cleanliness and organization in the kitchen. - Monitor and ensure the quality of ingredients and finished dishes. - Support and mentor junior kitchen staff as required. - Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations. - Assist in developing and planning menus and special dishes. - Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient kitchen operations. - Handle food inventory and assist in ordering supplies as needed. - Address and resolve any issues or concerns that arise during service. Qualifications: - Previous experience as a DCDP or in a similar role in a high-quality kitchen environment. - Culinary diploma or relevant qualification preferred. - Strong understanding of cooking techniques and kitchen equipment. - Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. - Excellent communication and teamwork skills. - High standards of hygiene and cleanliness. - Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends.
