Key Responsibilities: - Load Planning & Coordination: Collaborate with the Customer and Planning teams to secure timely backhauls, ensuring that all drivers maintain high productivity with minimal idle time. - Relationship Management: Build and sustain relationships with brokers and manage broker bid boards to find and book profitable loads. - Profit & Efficiency Optimization: Focus on profitable RPM and reduce deadhead miles, using these as primary metrics to guide decision-making. - Market Analysis: Monitor market rates, load volumes, and trends to optimize backhaul strategies and enhance the competitive positioning of our fleet. - Asset Management: Coordinate closely with asset-based teams to match loads with equipment availability, ensuring optimal resource utilization. - Real-time Communication: Maintain open lines of communication with drivers and dispatch to adapt quickly to any load or schedule changes. Qualifications: Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in asset-based planning, dispatching, or a similar role in the logistics industry. Technical Skills: Proficiency with transportation management software (TMS) and broker bid platforms ; working knowledge of routing and optimization software is a plus. Analytical Abilities: Strong ability to analyze RPM, deadhead metrics, and other key performance indicators to drive informed decision-making. Communication Skills: Excellent communication and negotiation skills to maintain relationships with internal teams, drivers, and brokers. Problem-solving: Ability to work under pressure and adapt quickly to changes in load plans or driver schedules.
