Job Description

As an Area Contracting Manager based in New Delhi, your primary responsibility will be to oversee and coordinate all hotels contracting activities within a specified geographic area. You will also lead a team of Contracting Managers, ensuring the achievement and monitoring of regional targets. Your main accountabilities will include providing clear direction, guidance, and support to the team of Contracting Managers. You will set performance expectations and cultivate a collaborative and high-performance work environment. Additionally, you will assist and coach Contracting Managers in developing individual strategies to enhance their skills, abilities, and competencies. Collaboration with the Regional Manager, Area Yield Manager, and other internal stakeholders will be crucial for efficient planning and execution of strategic plans. It will be essential for you to have a clear understanding of the initiatives and targets by providing clear guidance to drive and effectively implement key strategic partnership programs. You will also participate in key hotelier meetings that require Area leadership representation alongside the Contracting Manager, negotiate, and solve any operational issues or competitiveness problems to achieve goals. Building strong interdepartmental relationships across the business will be a key aspect of your role. Staying informed about market trends, industry developments, and emerging technologies will enable you to adapt contracting strategies effectively. To be successful in this role, you should possess strong influencing and negotiation skills, excel in creating and maintaining successful long-term commercial relationships with suppliers and stakeholders. Leadership skills to mentor a team towards successful outcomes, experience in negotiating agreements with suppliers, and building high-performing teams are essential. Your communication skills, both verbal and written, should be highly developed, along with effective presentation skills. Proficiency in IT, including Microsoft Office and Internet technologies, is required. A solid understanding of revenue management, distribution, travel, and hospitality industries, competitors, and related technology is also necessary.
