MBI Digital is looking for an Application Site Reliability Engineer with 7+ years of experience to support a state-of-the-art loan management platform. This role is part of our Application Support Team, responsible for maintaining, optimizing, and architecting solutions for cloud-hosted client environments. This is a hands-on development and support role with a strong emphasis on Java-based systems (SSIS experience is a plus). This is a 100% remote, multi-year engagement with working hours of 8 AM - 5 PM Eastern Time (Monday - Friday). Job Responsibilities Monitoring & Proactive Support Monitor the loan management platform, proactively identifying performance issues before they impact clients. Implement and configure monitoring/alerting tools to enable rapid intervention. Issue Response & System Availability Resolve Priority 1 (P1) "blocker" issues to minimize downtime. Participate in root cause analysis (RCA) and implement fixes via code, config, or infrastructure updates. Assist with "Request for Developer (RFD)" tickets as needed. Development & Coding (Java-Focused) Develop and optimize Java-based applications to resolve production issues and improve performance. Work within Agile methodologies for development and deployment. Release Readiness & Documentation Enhance platform documentation to accelerate issue resolution. Mentor team members on technical and functional aspects of the platform. Requirements Primary Skills (Java-Centric) 5+ years of hands-on Java development (enterprise cloud platforms). 2+ years of REST/API development (Spring Boot, JAX-RS, or similar). 2+ years of API/web service testing (JUnit, Rest Assured, etc.). 1+ years of database experience (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Oracle). 1+ years in distributed, fault-tolerant systems. 1+ years with logging frameworks (Log4J, SLF4J, etc.). 2+ years in Agile SDLC. Strong OOP, design patterns, and data structures knowledge. Extra Consideration for SSIS Experience Experience with SSIS or similar ETL/data integration tools is a strong plus. Soft Skills Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and communication skills. High attention to detail and organizational skills. Preferred Skills/Experience 5+ years in cloud architecture (Azure preferred). Experience with: Log4J / ELK Stack (monitoring & logging) ActiveBatch / RabbitMQ (scheduling & messaging) Apache Ignite / AngularJS/React Swagger/Postman (API testing) Education / Certifications BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
